Why GrapheneOS?

GrapheneOS is a security and privacy-focused mobile operating system based on the Android Open Source Project.

  • Privacy controls

GrapheneOS gives you granular control over what apps can reach. Permissions such as network access, sensors, location and storage can be granted narrowly rather than all at once, so an app only receives what you decide to give it.

  • Security

The operating system focuses on mobile security, with hardening across the system and a strong emphasis on exploit mitigation — making classes of attack harder to carry out rather than relying on detecting them after the fact.

  • App control

You can be deliberate about what runs on your device: install only the apps you want, keep permissions tight, and revisit those decisions at any time from the system settings.

  • Sandboxed Google Play

Google Play is not unavailable. GrapheneOS can run Google Play services in a sandbox as ordinary, unprivileged apps, so you can use the apps you need while keeping Play inside the same permission model as everything else.

  • Pixel hardware

GrapheneOS supports a specific set of Google Pixel devices, which is why PrivacyGraph prepares compatible Pixel hardware only. Using supported hardware means the operating system's security features work as intended.

  • User profiles

Multiple user profiles let you separate apps, accounts and data — for example keeping work apps away from personal ones — with each profile holding its own data.

Honest about privacy

Privacy isn't a magic switch.

A prepared device is a good starting point, not a guarantee. Here is what we will not claim.

  • No smartphone provides perfect privacy.
  • GrapheneOS does not make a person anonymous.
  • A VPN does not make a person anonymous.
  • Apps can still collect information about how you use them.
  • Websites can identify you when you are logged in to an account.
  • Online services can retain information you have shared with them.
  • Privacy depends partly on how a device is used day to day.

Proton VPN included.

Proton VPN can help protect network traffic by creating an encrypted connection between your device and a VPN server.

A VPN is a privacy tool, not a guarantee of anonymity.

Proton Mail included.

Proton Mail is included as part of the PrivacyGraph package, giving customers access to a dedicated email service from the Proton ecosystem.
